Biography

I am a 50-year-old Italian male medical doctor who specialises in radiology. I was born in Italy. I was adopted by a fantastic couple, my parents when I was 3-year-old. They also adopted my two sisters. I now live in Gambia, Africa. I am one of the few male members and supporters of the African Women in Europe Network.

I was always engaged in educational volunteer activities with children and young people and later with international student’s association. I become a doctor in 1994 dreaming to find my way back to Africa, where I travelled with my family as a child in 1972. My love for Africa has led me to meet African people during my travels and all-around Italy and Europe, discovering cultures, traditions and experiences.

I have an 11-year-old son, who I love dearly. I got involved with AWE in Losanne, at the Conference 2015, and since that day I appreciated how empowering African women are.
